Staying fit during the Holidays

Happy December everyone!

I've been super excited for Christmas for months, I couldn't wait for this month.

I want to start this month with a few tips to stay fit during the holidays, it's no secret most of us gain weight and it's something almost inevitable. If you celebrate Thanksgiving you probably start with a big meal on Thanksgiving and then days of leftover pies, cakes etc and this goes on until the new year.

1. Eat slowly
It takes the brain about 20 minutes to let you know you are full so eating slowly will help you eat less.

2.Portion control
Avoid buffet tables and use a smaller plate to serve your food, a full plate sends the signal that you’re eating a full meal, by making the size of your plate smaller, you will feel satisfied and you will less than you would with a big one.

3. Don't forget to exercise!
I know during the holidays we like to relax and have more "lazy days", we forget to include a workout routine in our days. Try to stay active everyday and get festive with your workouts! A Christmas song workout would be a good idea, search pinterest and you will find thousands of workouts.

4. Brush your teeth after every meal.
This makes it less appealing to eat more so don't doubt it and brush your teeth right after eating a meal!

5. Stay hydrated
This will make you feel full and staying hydrated helps you have more energy and look and feel better.

6. Have a buddy
Get one of your friends (or as many as possible, the more the merrier!) and workout together at least once a week. It will be really fun and what's better than having your loved ones help you?

What are your tips to stay healthy during the Holidays?
